Coordinator: Institute of Space Sciences

Partners: S.C. Advanced Studies and Research Center S.R.L.
Romanian Association for Space Technology and Industry (ROMSPACE)

Financed under the Romanian Space Technology and Advanced Research Programme

Duration: 2014-2016

Under the preliminary documentation, the analysis of ESA’s smart farming programme was envisaged, as well as an extensive research on existing applications of satellite based data acquisition for smart farming. For the mission definition, first the customer needs were identified for smart agriculture (precision farming) and other related applications, then the preliminary technical requirements, the possible mission concepts and a study on satellite platform developers was performed. Also, the local industry capabilities were identified: local potential developers of subsystems and payload, as well as critical technologies.
